120 mph? Maybe on a 75-100 shot? Full bolt ons they trap mid 11x range consistently at our track..... in the COLDEST weather of the year nonetheless. Once temps aren't in the 50s-60s anymore they will not touch those 115-116 traps. Period. On a 90 degree 4000 da day maybe 110-111 mph.

They both shift at 7500 rpm or so with the boss.

Dude is right, boss intake is killing his times as well as robbing precious torque. I live in Northern Cali, near atco....I have seen full bolton no power adders 5.0's going into the 10's. A good tune mustang with drs should be low 12 or near 12 flat WITH a good driver.

With long ass 3.15's and drag radials on stock suspension an auto car is not going to cut a 60 foot good enough for 12.0 or faster anything, with just a tune. Unless it's in negative DA with a ridiculous trap speed.

Thunder Valley is a little weird and we also only have 91 octane gas here. You should see what some V8 Camaro's run here...

So seems pretty fast to me?
Bama....lol the worst tune for the 5.0

I trapped over 120 at two different tracks with my manual 3.31 car on stock wheels and tires and full weight. Power mods were cai/boss intake/cat less xpipe/mufflers/93 oct tune. Et was 11.7 at one track and 11.8 at the other.

Boss intakes need a real tune. I was revving it out to 8k on some runs and shifting at 7700-7800 on my quickest passes.

Trapping 116 here with a ford racing tune and GT500 mufflers only.

3.15's aren't as tall as you think with the low ratio of first gear in an A6 car. first gear is 4.14 multiplied by 3.15 gives a final ratio of 13.135. the MT-82 has a first gear ratio of 3.66 and a gear ratio of lets say 3.55 gives a final ratio of 12.99, the fastest stock 6 speed manuals have 3.31's and that equates to a 12.11 final drive ratio

I find your times entertaining. Because those trap speeds are way beyond what ANY bolt on 5.0 traps here. The times you only see on the internet hahahaha....

Are there some 5.bro internet heroes here or what?

Here's the best run my friend has had in his 2012 mustang gt. It put down 420 whp.... He traps 114-116.

This is in cool 50 degree weather... The best weather of the YEAR.

His friend's AED tuned, full exhaust, cai 5.0 did 12.5 @ 115 mph on street tires. -3.31s 6 speed manual.

They all consistently run the same times/traps.... as they should. It's the same car.

You'd have a much better argument if there wasn't a Camaro with those mods running that fast. In stock form an automatic 5.0 is a mid-high 12 second car. And an automatic LS1 is a low-mid 13 second car. So how does one get significantly faster with mods yet the other stays the same at the all while at the same track?

It's Thunder Valley in Oklahoma. I'm not a bit surprised at the 5.0 times for that track. I am a little surprised by the LS1 times if that is all the mods that it has. What was the DA? Or rather what was the date and time?
