1LE Track Record.....Already
LSX TV has some great articles for Chevy fans. One of the best is this video and comment on the preparations for the 1LE's first entry in the SCCA T2 division of road race action. The number 33 Camaro 1LE beat the old T2 track record at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex during testing and practice. Gees, what else can it do???? All hail King Camaro!!!

The LS3 is running very similar times as the L99 before either was tuned. I haven't had this one on the dyno yet, so the jury is still out on that issue, but....I don't think the LS3 is as fast as the L99 over all. I have raced other L99s with the same bolt ons as my 2010 and none have beaten my ETs...however, it's hard to overcome the 60 foot times the L99 lays down. Good catch, though and got me embarrassed. If I had it to do all over again, I would probably have kept my L99.

To support my view and back on topic somewhat - As I understand it (I may be wrong on that - don't think so) the 1LE is available only with the 6MT. I wonder why? Oh that's right - while an auto is consistently quicker in a short straight line - the preferred and proven way to go faster around a closed curcuit course is with a manual (either with a good old fashion manual clutch pedal or a high tech racing tranny that is still a manual but aided with an electronically actuated clutch). That's why I have a manual. I rarely go to the drag strip but I get to go fast, go slow, turn right, turn left, stop, start everytime I drive my LS3 and for me the manual makes that a more satisfying driving experience. Its all good though - being different is what makes the world go round!
