Non RS Retrofit HID projector for LS Installers

Please Help!

ok, I have been researching like crazy to basically get what AAC offers here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171916

and what Caverman had done from the Retrofitsource here - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=caverman+hid

this is what im looking for

I want HID Projectors with Halo's & flat black paint all installed to be a plug & play system for me
What i am looking for is other companies or people beside AAC that do this. i reached out to RetrofitSource and they stated they no longer do this.

Can someone please help if you know of any other places, i'm just looking to weight out my options
Thanks in advance,
and yes i've been searching tirelessly on the forum and seem to only find AAC that does it. not saying i won't get from them, just curious if there are other options

Why not look up a DIY?

Look up member 2SSRS. He might be able to do it for you.

It's not that hard bro. It can be intimidating bc of the baking and sealing but that's really the hardest part of all. I did my own light, painted them black and put flashtech halos all under 500$

Unless you're going for that look, I would not do a retrofit. People have been paying more than what it would cost to get RS headlights, especially from AAC. If you're just looking for HID's with halos, either get the eagle eyes ($300 + $100 HID upgrade) or get refurbished RS headlights from 2SSRS (www.gen5diy.com). If you are going to go the route of retrofitting, stay as far away as possible from AAC and go with retrofitsource

It seems like you just want HIDs with halos and a black background, get the eagle eyes and upgrade the HIDs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-11-Chevy-...2b775c&vxp=mtr This link is for the standard ones that are yellow halogens. Search for "camaro halo HID" on ebay and you'll find some that have already been swapped for HIDs already.

A few horror stories (they get buried in the smallest viewed forums because they're huge vendors here and no one wants to badmouth the big boys):

AAC retrofit horror story

I was thinking about it for a while too. But then I decided to save up for the GM RS headlights to avoid all this hassle. It's worth the money in the end. Shameless plug: If you get RS headlights and you need a Ottobody harness to convert the RS wires to non-RS wires (plug and play), I got one for sale.

I have to disagree here. A retrofit if done right, is better than the OEM lights. The cutoff line of a quality retrofit is better than that of the stock projectors. If you don't believe me, just look up Caverman's retrofit thread. He has a comparison there and you can easily tell how his cutoff line is a lot crisper than the OEM ones.

Also, to your point that people have been paying a lot more for the retrofit than RS lights, its both true and untrue. Most who do it add colored halos so that would also have to be done to the OEM set if they still want the colored halos. An oem halo set would be about 750 for a used set and then you still need to buy the harness that makes them work on non-rs cars. That is about 150 bucks from 2SSRS. So already your total is 900 plus what you would need to buy for the colored halos.

Now, compare that to what AAC is charging, that's about the same. Now I've seen the AAC horror stories so I'm not saying to go with them. I didn't want to pay their crazy prices so I just learned to do it myself. I bought a retrofitsource kit and went to town. I've even had a few local camaro owners ask me to do it for them and I haven't charged nearly what AAC wants. Mostly because I don't believe in how AAC charges for the install of halos and the install of the projectors while it's all done while the lamps are open.

Also, the eagle eye headlights are atrocious compared to a retrofit. The light output completely stinks. I would know, I had a set and once switching to the retrofit, I saw what I was missing.

Yea, I have seen the eagle eyes, I'm not a big fan of that look. The headlights that caverman has is pretty much the look I'm going for (with the addition of painting the chrome black and Halo's) maybe I will get crazy and start reading more how to do it myself. But it's not getting done now. Too cold, LOL

Check this out. Good price for a whole retrofit set.
