The “RUY” option will be placed on full constraint in the coming week, and will remain on constraint for a number of months. At this point, no retail orders in the production system are impacted by this issue.

20” Polished Aluminum wheels (RPO: RUY) are a popular $470 MSRP option for all SS models and LT models equipped with RS Appearance Package. These wheels were redesigned for 2013 model year along with the other 18” and 20” aluminum wheels, which are not involved in this action.

In an effort to continue to offer optional polished wheels for all SS models and LT models with the RS Appearance Package, the 2012 Camaro’s 20” Polished Aluminum wheels (RPO: R40) will be reintroduced as $470 MSRP option starting on Thursday, September 20, 2012. These optional wheels (RPO: R40) will be available until the original 2013 20” Polished Aluminum wheels are again available later in the model year.

Again, only the 20” Polished Aluminum wheels are impacted by this issue. The other 18”, 19”, 20” and 21” wheels continue to be available.

So, for those of you that don't like the new style wheels, you can order the polished option and you'll get the old style wheel for a short while.

Have you heard anymore about this? My SS is on hold due to the polished rim situation :'(

Does anyone know how long we will be able to order our 2013 Camaro's with the orginal 20" polished rims from 2010-2012? They are one of my favorite stock rims and Im getting ready to order a 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS after the new year, btw right now they are impossible to find at most dealerships around me, and I would prefer the 2010 rims. I can't stand the new standard rims at all, and from some comments Ive read hear and there Im not the only one.

No word yet on how long they will be available. Most certainly until the constraint is lifted on the regular polished wheel. They might even offer them after that constraint is lifted.

Thats actually awesome for people who dont like the 2013 rims, you can get a 2013 with factory 2012 rims on it.

I agree!

Mine was built just prior to the 2013's being on constraint.

I ordered another one for my son after and his will have the 2012's.

His should be here within the next week, so I'll be able see which, in person, I like the most!

That's funny because that's the area I like the most about the new wheel. To me they look more sinister.
