Pfadt Trailing Arms

Does anyone know if the Pfadt Trailing Arms eliminate wheel hop? It has been reported that the BMR trailing arms do, but I'd like to get the lighter Pfadt offering.

They made a very noticeable difference in my car. I get very little wheel hop now. That was 530 at the wheels, already running pfadt sport 2 package.

You beat me to it, BigSquirrel. Yes, the Pfadt trailing arms do a very good job of eliminating wheel hop. Once you remove the OEM trailing arms, you'll be shaking your head at GM for putting in such puny pieces of junk in a 400HP rear wheel car.

Thanks for all the input gents. As mentioned earlier in the thread, wheel hop is certainly curtailed after the install of our Trailing Arms. We designed them to be both lighter and stronger than the stock pieces. The new design increases strength by 106%, reduces mass by 17%, and overall nets a 32% reduction in deflection.

What this directly translates too is less wheel hop due to the stock rear trailing arm deflecting under hard launches, or coming out of corners on power on the street or at the track.

610 RWHP. Not gonna say it totally eliminated it but they make a huge difference. Totally worth it. I also went with the pfadt toe end links.

Wheel hop is the direct result of excessive deflection in you suspension/chassis components and the soft stock bushings that causes toe changes and a decreased contact patch. By strengthening those components and upgrading the bushings you will kill the deflection and thus the wheel hop. A good set of trailing arms, like the sickness that Pfadt created, is definitely part of the equation.

I went with the BMR and I'm quite satified.

The Pfadt instructions call for you to press the bushings in place. Really? Isn't this something that they should be doing from the factory?

The BMR's come pressed in place. Would make the installation much quicker and easier, as I don't have a press. Guess you could do it in a vise?

There are 2 sets of bushings that need to be installed for our trailing arms, a 2 piece bushing that presses into the chassis side and a single piece bushing that presses into the spindle. The 2 piece bushing really doesn't require that much force to install, hand tools and a dead blow hammer are sufficient. With proper provided lubricant installing the 2 piece bushing into the control arm shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

The stock bushing at the spindle on the other hand can be a little difficult. We can provide a tool that makes removal extremely easy.
