Is this an alignment issue?
the car is lowered 1". it was aligned at GM. the wear pattern or feathering is on both rear tires on the outside toward the fender lip.

+1 too much air. You probably have to compensate for the expanded air pressure from racing. Friction that causes heat, warm air is less dense, expanding blah blah.. That or put some Nitrogen into the wheels =D I think that will reduce the expansion rate.
Alignment wear would be showing only on ONE of the sides, instead of the middle.

When you say "get home from the track" are you referring to autox or road course? If so, that "feathering" effect would be normal track wear and tear. In fact I would say it looks pretty minimal.

He's not talking about the wear in the middle, he's talking about the rough edges that are appearing on the outside edges of the tires (as pictured). These are M&H Drag Radials, they are designed with the flat spot (no tread) in the middle.
I'm no expert, but I would think this is from too much positive camber, or maybe too much toe-in?? A good alignment would probably fix it. Maybe just take it to an alignment shop and first see if the alignment is off. |

Do you have your alignment specs? The wear is certainly odd for the drag strip unless you are running a lot of positive camber. Typically IRS cars will wear the inside when the suspension compresses at launch and the tire sees negative camber coming out of the hole...
