It states in the description that modification is required for the brace to fit the 2010 Camaro.

Well i was guessing that holes had to be drilled. But i dont know if it fits over the engine with the cover on. I was looking at BMR strut bar and i dont like the 4 point one. And according to BMR the V6 has a taller manifold than the SS so i wasnt sure if it would fit

it is much more than holes being drilled, a spacer needs to be fabed up. this is something ill be working on in the near future but it will be strictly for looks only

The entire shape of the strut towers are different on the 2011 and the ABS brake lines are different to clear the brace on the 2011 cars. The 2011 strut towers are contoured with raised flat portions that have threaded holes for mounting the brace. To make something to adapt the tower (and actually look nice) it would take a machined spacer to match the strut tower contours (look at this link to see the differences, go to the end of the post to see pics - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ce+2010&page=2.
Even if you machined a complicated (and expensive) spacer to match the tower contours, it will put some of the mounting holes over an area that doesn't even exist on the 2010 strut tower. It's just not a practical mod. It would actually be easier and cheaper to weld mounting brackets onto the tower to adapt the 2011 brace... |
