Yeah .. I know. My tuner warned me. I have had limited WOT pulls. It's mostly been putted around for the first 300-500 miles. Hard to do though. So far, everything is quiet and great

True ... it's just a hassle

I struck while iron was hot, they couldn't claim that.

Some people will tell you to change the oil after 500-1000 miles of break in. Can't go wrong with being extra cautious
Looking to get gears for mine next too.

Dynos measure the horsepower and torque that the engine makes. There should be no change from gears alone.

The advantage of a numerically higher final drive ratio is to put the engine into a preferable power band faster, getting more effective power where it's needed, and can improve track times with good traction.

Oops btw mods are vararam tune unit, tune by skinny white guy tuning (casey at SWG), and muffler delete. ZL1 shifter too but that may be irrelevant.

Gears multiply torque. They obviously don't give you more torque at the crankshaft, but you should see more at the wheels.

I cannot vouch for that, but I know the 3.91 gear upgrade is a great mod. 5 stars.
If you look at the "overall" gearing in the 1LE vs the SS, every gear is within a few percentage points, except for 4th. They put the 3:91 gears in the 1LE, and then took almost the exact same amount out of every gear except, 4th, leaving 4th as the only significantly changed gear. I'm assuming that they did this to make 4th more effective for road racing, without negatively affecting fuel economy. Installing the 3:91 gears with a non-1LE SS transmission is going to have a much more dramatic effect.

Please elaborate on the dramatic effect

Couple of quick questions:

1. Did you reset your speedometer for the new rear gears and how did you do it.

2. What's a good baseline price for having this done. I would like to do this to my 2010 SS.

Not very bad news, could have been worse. Especially since you left with the damage and went back. Most other shops would have denied it since you left the lot. Nice upgrades though
