BTW - just wondering what type of equipment you need for this "p90x"?
Check out the beachbody.com website it talks about what you may need. Depending on your preference you can use either weights (dumbbells) or bands.

I've been doing P90 going on 2 years now.

It's not for everyone especially a guy who wants to bulk up.

I like it because it incorporates cardio into a weight lifting routine. Stretching is good also.

I would suggest that if you are severely obese to diet first and get down to a manageable weight. There is some heavy impact on one of the cardios so the extra weight could be a problem on your knees.

The program has a physical test you perform to see if you are ready for it.

The funny thing is that I am 6'-0" and thought I would be down around 205 lbs. I am 230 lbs but my waist size is down to a very loose 36" pants.

I like P90x especially because I can do most of the exercises within a 4ft x 4ft area, which makes it nice at work during lunch.

I also like it because if you travel you don't need to find a gym.

P90x is an example of "no pain no gain"

Just finished the first week! My body was sore all over for the first 3 or 4 days, but overall, the program is great. Yoga was killer, waaay worse than I thought it would be, but no pain no gain lol.

Tomorrow is the end of my first week, I am kinda interested about Kenpo, as I have never done it before. And yoga is WAY harder than I expected. Not a wimpy girly type workout that seriously kicked my butt. I am very sore but this is alot of fun, I have no problem coming home everyday and hitting play. I can't wait to see where I am in 90 day

Kenpo is fun, you barely notice that you spent an hour doing it.

I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did the final yoga workout today and i'm free!! I had a few stumbles along the way, and had to take a total of 2 weeks off throughout the program, but I kept hitting play and I didn't quit. lost around 20 lbs, down to about 210 now. I definitely gained plenty of muscle, and the sixpack is on the way still haha, i'm starting round 2 within a week, I still have a ways to go, and i'm gonna get there no matter what!!

congrats on making it all the way through. I made it through the second week of stage 2 then severely mess up my wrist. I wasn't even supposed to work but I have to make money which hampered healing time. I started back up Saturday, getting injured sucked taking almost 2 months off sucked worse

keep at it, the results are worth it, I had to take about a week off when I injured my knee, but as soon as I could move it again, I hit play again, don't get discouraged and don't quit!

Finished my 90 days. It took me an extra 3 weeks because of a hurt back. I am 5' 8" and was 167lbs with a 32 inch waist. I am now 154lbs and a 30 inch waist. On the nutrition side, I would say I followed it about 75%. I was always in good shape but am in the best shape of my life at 47 years old. I only did Yoga several times, I replaced it with something else. I now workout 5 days a week. I do Plyo, Kenpo, and X Strech three days a week and go to the gym for weight lifting the other 2 days. I also do Ab Ripper X every other day. Awesome feeling when you take care of your body like this. It takes a dedicated person to stay with it. I read that 93% don't finish and most that quit are within the first 2 weeks. I bet that is because they are in pain and hadn't seen results yet. If you just hang in there the results will come and that is all the motivation you need to stay with it. Just my 2 cents.

LOL! It will kick you tail.... I did it and made a lot of difference in my body.... I am 5' 8" 234.... It is unpredictable.... things I wasn't seeming to workout were being worked out.... I hate the yoga.... You might not make all the days at first but as long as you keep moving forward it will happen.... I wasn't good about doing everyday but I did do all the excercises on the day I was doing it even if it took 2 hours.... it is seven days of dedicated exercise that is very hard.... if you think yoga is a joke it was one of the hardest things I did and I actually missed it a lot....lol....

Plyo was easy to me. The first time I did it tho it made me soooo sore that it took two weeks to get over.... I'm not talking about little sore I'm talkin about imiserable.... it was worth it and make up your mind and do it.... It will change you... it will make you stronger..... I am still as strong as I was when I was doing it. I just lost muscle definition.....

You will need a lot of protien in meat.... It was sooo hard on my body it was messing with my blood sugar..... I am not diabetic.... You will have to eat a lot more than you do now and push fluids.... With all that said.....

I would do it! Take it serious and pay attention to what your body it telling you....

Goodluck..... I might have to make plans to start too....
