Question Advice on Buying Used V6???

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the site and Im looking to buy a slightly used v6 in the near future. I love it. I've never bought a car this new so I've never had to negotiate with a dealership.

I'm looking for advice/estimates on what would be a good price to ultimately pay, and where I should start the negotiation, since theres no blue book on the 2010s.

The few I'm looking at are "advertised" at 24-26k and have between 6k and 10k miles (V6, with sunroof). I know the demand is high but I must get one for less. Any suggestions??? I CANNOT wait any longer to drive this car!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

I believe you could buy a new LS model for 24k or so , if you are wanting something cheaper than that look for either a used LS model or a used 1 LT with some miles on it or one that someone traded back in but I would think low 20's will be as cheap as you will find but you never know you could go to a dealership and see what they will order you a new LS for and see if you can get any discounts or if they are selling under invoice , I know that may sound like A long shot but it never hurts to ask

Wait untill after April 5th when the 2011 models will be announced. The 2010's will drop down in price.

The dealer auction site has the V6 listed at ~22k for Camaros with between 6-10k miles on them. I don't think you'll get them to budge that much on price.

There are Camaros with more miles on them starting at 20k though, so you may have to settle for something with more miles on it to get it into the price range you want.

My advice: Proceed with Caution! Most of these Camaro's are probably rentals that may have been abused, and in some cases, in wrecks. Just checking out the ones on ebay, looks like most are only 1-2 grand off msrp at best, and advertised as "Great Deals".....Not!

Considering that more and more dealers are starting to sell brand new one's below sticker (I've seen a few 1LT RS-equipped for up to 1500 below sticker), I wouldn't consider Used in less its SEVERAL thousand below sticker, and you've had a chance to get it thoroughly inspected by an independent mechanic

a 2LT with sunroof has MSRP around 29k so if it is a 2LT 24-26 is probably about right. 1LT would depend on what options are on it but should be a coupl G's less I would guess. Don't think you can get a sunroof in an LS.
