That kind of defeats the purpose of being mellow. OP, look into the Borla exhausts. They do offer a muffler delete, but they have two other axle-back exhausts. One mild and one more mid-range. They have sound clips on their website of the different ones.

The OP never used the word mellow, he stated he wants 'tone'. Just trying to save the guy $$$.
You and the OP can youtube muffler delete and take a listen.

When he said he didn't want to rattle windows, to me, I took it as being more mellow. Hell, when I was looking into exhaust work, I was looking at pypes, but I decided I wanted to do a full 3" exhaust, front to back.

On my 2011 2SS/RS Vert, I had the optional GM cat back installed and loved it.
Note GM has both a street legal cat back system for the Vert as well as an 'off-road' rated cat back. Each one can be had for a car either with or without the GFX package.

Whatever you choose make SURE it's for a convertible.

Don't be sorry, SOLO is the only way to go for a convertible.

The drone will absolutely kill you with another type of exhaust. Make sure you get it with J pipes. Its perfect!
