If you "had" to? Anyone can do that. Had to = really can't. Besides, for every penny you steal, you pay back double one way or another. You can count on that. They may not know you are cheating but the person who it matters most (YOU) knows. Keep it honest.

I am getting a cam installed in 2 weeks, if I couldn't afford repairs do u think i would be doing anything to the car? No! This was sorta a test for all that don't want to do mods because of the warranty! Gotta pay to play!

Please post up your outcome with your trans. Mine is starting to sometimes slightly grind going in to 2nd. Thinking about taking it in so I'm curious about what the do to you.

I have an MGW shifter and I'm wondering if they call that the problem more than the tune though.

I don't really want to take my car to the dealer though. Not sure how they will treat the car and I'm afaid they'll hurt it worse.

My understanding, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is that warranty work will only be refused/denied if they can prove that the mod you did is the cause of the malfunction/problem.

I'm pretty sure it's that simple.

The problem is it's their word against yours. They can tell you whatever they want to.

Also, I bet the first words out of their mouth is denied. It will be up to you to fight with them to make them try to fix.

If my trans starts getting any harder to shift 1-2 gear I might be finding out all of this first hand. My feeling is it won't be the tune but the MGW shifter they will try to blame.

When I used to have my Cobalt SS/SC, my cat's flex pipe broke and they refused warranty because they said the catalytic was hit on the ground (based on a scratch) which is due to my suspension being lowered. I ended up paying for a new aftermarket catalytic/flex pipe. After that the aftermarket cat clogged, and the mechanic blew my engine on a road test with me in the car and blamed me for putting the aftermarket cat on. "Just because we pulled the trigger doesn't mean we loaded the gun" is the exact words they told me. I paid 7k+ for a new engine. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if a dealer doesn't want to cover something because of something else that could or could not be related they will not cover you.

Look around and you will find them. I have read them...and they have been discussed quite a bit.

FWIW, don't believe the "you can flash it back and no one will ever know" jazz...if they do the snapshot and send it off, you're screwed.
I don't doubt that GM can see a tune. I did a search and I didn't find one case of a Camaro being denied. Obviously it has happened, but they are few and far between. Oh, and I'm talking TUNE only. Not some guy who has poweradders that they can see is on the car. TUNE only, nothing else. I can't find one case of denial.
