Hex Vents Lit Up

Moved it into the right section

Hey guys, just finished up my latest project..had my Hex Vents in for a few months and with the help of a fellow forum member got some acrylic inserts for them for the rain / car washes, keep them open for nice weather driving and track use. They look great with them in!! I also decided to add a bunch of XKglow LED lights in my engine bay. Think it gives it a pretty killer look. Sorry for the shooty pics and vids..Ill get some better ones tomorrow night.

The kit it self has 7 solid colors and hundreds of combos..Im going to leave it steady red or the breather red

asked before, but you would not answer....I like the look, but it seems the functionality is compromised:

when it rains, are you gonna stop and put up the hood and pop them on?

water either pools in the vent or runs out the front on top of the belts?

and plex long term in 300 degree heat deforms...

so please, explain....and tell me I'm way off base...

A lot of members don't drive their Camaro if there is even a slight chance of rain. Seems simple enough to have them open during track days and/or sunny days and closed all other times.

Looks great, OP.

If I'm out, the weather forecast on my phone says rain, I take the two minutes to put them in, not to difficult....they are not in full time, just enough if I'm out and a rain shower is coming...I'm not driving in a down pour, just enough coverage so my air filter doesn't get water on it

The amount of heat that a FI engine with LT headers produces can get pretty high at times.......soooo i dont see that Plex lasting very long before its warped and discolored. For looks purposes, ie a car show etc etc....it would probably get you noticed.

I would assume he keeps them in all the time, but when its a nice day and a solid chance of no rain, he takes them out.

Look great :-)
But where does the water run too?
I have a similar idea but I thought I'd mount them 1/2 lower to allow heat to escape and water to run off...
