7 months in...

It's about to hit 7 months that I have owned my camaro, I have learned a lot from many of you here on the forum and wanted to share some pictures after 7 months of all your advice. Prior to buying my camaro I had my faithful 2003 Honda Accord, which I would "abuse" and take to the $5 drive-thru washes. I always noticed the massive swirling but would have never thought the car wash caused it. Little did I know then...

Anyway, here are some pictures.

I also tackled bringing some pep back to the old boat. Boat is from 1999 and was never washed, ever. Unless putting it in the lake counted. Lots of water spots and etching, doubt there is ever a clear coat left, who knows. Can't put lipstick on a pig.

Use the two bucket method with grit guards.

Microfiber madness incredimitt
Optimum Car wash
Meg's wheel cleaner w/ speedmaster brushes
Ultima waterless wash+ for detail spray
Dry me crazy towel
Rag company edgeless eagles for door jambs/trunk
Meg's window cleaner
Hydro2 sealant
Blackfire Midnight sun wax

And some may turn a nose to this, but it works for me, I use armorall wheel shine. Lasts long and I like the look.

Armor all for wheel shine... How dare you... Lol!

But in all seriousness your car and boat look great! Nothing like a beautiful camaro!

Do you not get quite a bit of sling from using a solvent based tire dressing? I remember on my old truck meguires "hot tire shine" and Armorall I used to get ridiculous amounts of sling. Granted they were 35" tires on a 18" wheel so it required a lot more of it.

Glad you don't have water spots on your windows. Mine are terrible, and they don't come off easily! Guess that is what I get from living in Texas... And y'all don't get much rain in Arizona.. (not that we do either) but that helps add to the spotting lol. Anyways, your car looks amazing! Mine on the other hand, though in better shape than most around here, still suffers from bugs etching a bit and small scratches from stray animals. I have accepted the fact that where I live, I cannot keep my car perfect. Animals, dirt roads, and screwy highways are not a cars best friend...

Sounds like your windows need a good claying and to be sealed! You can even use the rain-x stuff from auto stores and it will work fine. It just won't last nearly as long as the products recommended in the product guide at the top of this thread.

Never had problems with water spots, and if there are a random spot or two a quick detail spray makes quick work of them. Thank you for the compliments.

It's actually Ashen Grey Metallic, but thanks either way.

I do get sling, but its not noticeable until I'm washing the vehicle and up close.

Whoops sorry didn't pay attention to color, just looking at that great reflection!

Ah I get you. To each his own! You have a great car!
