High Oil Pressure?

I have an RS and just started looking at the Oil Pressure Gauge today. I noticed that when cruising in low RPMs (about 1500) that the pressure is at about 30. As soon as I accelerate (not even aggressively) the pressure jumps to 70. Is that normal, or do I have an issue? This is with an oil temp of about 200.

As far as mods, I have a RX Catch Can and a CAI, which I installed on the same day (a few weeks ago).

Normal.

The LLT & LFX have timing chain tensioners that are 100% dependant on oil pressure to keep the proper tension on the chains to prevent them from jumpping teeth and destroying the engine. Traditionally over cam tensioners have had a spring backup so no idea why the genius engineers decided these motors dont need it, but drive low on oil and come to a quick stop and you can suck air causing the pressure to drop to zero long enough for the chains to loosen and jump the teeth on the gears......so watch oil level!!

Great info. Thank you.

I thought the LFX was re-engineered so that it wasn't as prone to the low oil failures?

They improved the timing chains and guides, but that was all and the same newer ones are the replacements we put in these all the time.

They did nothing for the oil issues.
