Bellingham police will ticket on site for no front plate. They need additional revenues to support the extremely liberal spending government. Your best bet is drive through Bellingham between 8-10am (donut shop hours), 12-2 (Fast Food lunch time) or after 4pm (writing daily reports of famous criminals and cyclist they detained on their shift).

Got pulled over an on-ramp 3 days back for this in my non-camaro. She gave me a warning and took down my car info on a notepad.

WSP loves to write tickets for no front plate... I deal with customers that get tickets for it all the time.

If they want to be a dick, they'll be a dick and apart of them being a dick is wasting your time to go to the court house to try and get the ticket dismissed. Sure, you got it dismissed but how much time did you waste just to get it dismissed, not to mention how POed you were the entire time leading up to going to court.

So... where in the RCW does it state that the plate has to be right-side-up? they already state that it needs to be laying down (horizontal) but readable - I am assuming they mean readable from a helicopter as that's the only thing they have fast enough to catch one of us.

I also don't understand why these laws are written in such a way as to intentionally be ambiguous. If we HAVE to have a front plate, state it as such. nothing is "impossible" but our vehicles were not MADE to hold a front plate, there are no holes or even dimples manufactured into the car for one... as if GM knew it would look like a$$.

but, its the same deal with "speed racing" - because apparently sitting at a dead stop and burning your tires is an exhibition of speed. Seems to me that its an exhibition of smoke and sound, but since your not moving, how could it POSSIBLY be about speed?

but I digress...

Well boys and Girls......

Got nailed today for no front plate on my Camaro. Bellingham bike cop on I-5. No Warning either. Just a fat $216 ticket. I have driven by a ton of cops with no plate. It always seems to be the guys on the bikes that give the tickets. May have to put the plate on now. Any suggestions?

It's officer Leake of the Bellingham police on the motorcycle. a real prick. i've been stopped and ticketed for 5 over a couple times by him. he's a harley guy outside of work and suffers from remedial small penis disease.

I live in Algona, just south of Seattle.I haven't put my front plate on and so far so good. But I don't do much freeway driving so it's a little easier for me to lay low.The WSP frequents the Starbucks down the street from me so eventually I'll get nabbed.Until then my car has no scars on it's nose

Possibly some good news for my fellow Washingtonians. Our esteemed Governor who last voting season denied that we have a budget problem, has decided we do, after all have some problem...probably made by Dino Rossi or some such person.

In an effort to combat this magically appearing defecit, our fearless governor turned to the one resource she's ignored for 2 terms.....the people of Washington State!

That's right, she's asked for ideas to save the state money. One of the front runners right now, out for review of impact by state and local law enforcement, is the EXTREME idea that WA can save money by only requiring and issuing ONE license plate in the future. I can only hope that this becomes law before my '11 'vert arrives, 'cause I'm not putting no stinkin' license plate on the front of my car!

Hope this is good news!

Tib
