Counterstrike

Yes, I love Counterstrike: Source. It's been out for years, but it's still one of the best 3D FPS games out for any platform. A new version is being developed which will only take the graphics to an even better level.

This is the game, played at the highest level. I'm nowhere near this good.

Not a fan of CS or crosshair shooters, just as bad as third person OTS knee high wall shooters.

Every shooter with decent gameplay mechanics seems to die instantly, where as the ADD infused crackhead games keep cowing the cash. It cheapens the experience when its fast paced action all the time. Some is nice.

Im so picky! Need a game where you die when shot, rather than absorb bullets like a sponge, proper sound, I love all these games where you sprint forever and NEVER ever run out of breath. Last shooter that handled that correctly was COD UO, because after sprinting for a long distance you would be panting and enemies could hear you easially if you were silly enough to rush up like that.

One thing that many good CS players do is use sound to track in on where people are. To the uninitiated, this can look like hacking...but I home in on enemies for a knife kill all based on sound.

I love CS and HL. I played the hell out of CS when I was in Highschool... failed a whole lotta tests because of those two franchies. They seemed to take the first huge steps in FPS. I am praying we can get HL3 this winter, but im still skeptical. This should hold me over..
