Becuase they're pushing it as a good value, and trying to make darn sure it's not overlooked like every other V6 Camaro.

the one presented in Paris was a SS (removed badges).

Even if your theory is wrong .. you're right, the V6 bumper is wayyyyy cooler than the fat SS one. (actually, it's less ugly when you see the car in person. The SS bumper was a "no go" for me until I saw it for real and it became a "if we don't have the choice, let's go" ... but I'm waiting for a Z28 anyway ... I may wait my whole life ...)

I have 200 RGB leds that I paid $35 for, which can be any color in the rainbow... I bought them for remote controlled mood lighting in my house, and they would work great in various camaro applications. (I acutally put them in the fake vents on my v6maro and built a controller to make them flash like cop lights(555 timer chip for you electronics geeks... gotta love them.))
