Funny response from a dealer
Here's the story. I was looking at a 2012 45th SS at a local auto dealership. It has 20+k on the odo. They had it priced at $33k which I thought was high, so I did some looking around on Yahoo autos. I happened to find one that was almost identical up in Texarkana. The only difference I could see was it was automatic. But it was priced at $27k.
So I sent the local dealership manager an email with the link and asking if he could match that price. Texarkana is only a couple of hours away, so I told him I wouldn't mind making the drive up there to check it out on the weekend. Here's his response: "If you check, our Camaro (matched option for option) is priced very aggressively based on national pricing. We truly wish we could get the price you are asking for, however, that would represent a large loss on the car and it is a very sellable vehicle. Please call us and let's make a deal that works for both of us." In other words, no. Very sellable vehicle? I guess that's why the Carfax report shows it's been sitting on their lot since July.

Some dealers just sit on cars forever. The ones that sell cars actually make deals.

In this case the automatic is listed at $6,000 less than the manual. The manual does have Hurst shifter, but still - for the automatic that's a big freaking difference.

$27k is a good price for an almost 2yr old car with 20k mileage.
You can buy a brand new 2014 1SS coupe manual nicely equipped for $35k per the Chevy build site.... so that is but $2k more than the car the other schmoe is trying to pawn off on you. Were both cars 45th anniversary models, as that may be part of the price difference. BTW, can't wait to see the golden (50th) anniversary Camaros! |

Hell, I bought my 2010 2SS/rs new for 36100 ttl. So youd be a fool to pay anything over $28 for either car.
