SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP !

ok to make a long story short my bud has been waiting for this car like for ever.

he had a new escalade paid off in full trad that in plus ten grand down i know that sounds crazy but he did it.

he got the camaro 2ss rs with auto trans he had it for a month now thinking the car was great but WE GOTTA PROBLEM.

WE JUST CAME BACK THREE HOURS AGO FROM IRWINDALE SPEED WAY IN LA CA.

FIRST OFF LET ME TELL YOUS GM MESS UP WITH THIS TRANNY WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS TO PUT THIS DAMN THING IN DRIVE.

WE RAN IT WITH TRACKTION CONTROLL ON USING M & D BEST TIME WAS 9.5 1/8 MILE.

THEN WE RAN IT AGAIN WITH COMP MODE ON USING M & D BEST TIME WAS 9.25 1/8 MILE.

THEN WE RAN IT AGAIN WITH THE TRACKTION CONTROLL OFF AND WE JUST KEPT SPINING AND SPINING WE RAN 10.6 I SWEAR I KNOW THAT SOUNDS CRAZY FOR 1/8 MILE BUT WE SPUN TOO MUCH.

CAN SOMBODY TELL ME WHAT GM WAS THINKING DOING THIS !

after all this testing we found out that if you hold the button down for 5 second you can drive it in comp mode as well as the tracktion controll off so instead of choosing one you can drive it with both modes.

we didnt test it in this mode where gonna check it next week but even in best case if we take off a tenth or two i think this is stiil way to slow.

there was a guy with a calculator and he said that the camaro weight 4700 lbs and the best time was 9.25 at 78 mile per hour = 14.040 1/4

The camaro weighs 3,800 lbs (99% sure) and you may be one of those unlucky few whose been having problems with the L99.

typing in caps = cruise control for cool.

and I thought ebonics was hard to understand...

And for traction control off causing you to spin the tires..... Learn to Drive...

Yeah...not to be insulting at all (we all start somewhere) but if you spun the tires that badly with traction control off, then that means you were heavily relying on traction control when it was on, and you're never going to post fast times that way because it's limiting wheelspin by reducing engine output and even applying brakes when necessary. That's my understanding anyway, someone correct me if I'm wrong on how TC works. In any case, a good driver will get a better time with it off. Did you drive through the water box or something?

What was the weather like on these runs?

Learn some grammar. I hate trying to make sense out of some people's posts.

Your buddy paid 10K plus a new Escalade for a Camaro? Tell him not to go into the accounting business.

I would suggest more practice. Wheel spin slows you down. Traction control slows you down as well. You need to find the sweet spot and that takes practice. The last time I was at the track it took me 6 or 7 runs just dialing in the first 60 feet. Besides you are only off by about .7 seconds for the average runs right now.
