What octane do you use?

I have ran the Petro Canada 94 Ultra since the first tank. I'm at 1500km now and have absolutely nothing in my tail pipe tips. They are as clean as the day I got the car. I hear many people say their ZL1 gets a ton of black sot in their tail pipes so I'm wondering why I am not. I'm doing the suggested break in but it still makes me confused as to why I am not getting anything in my pipes. Is it the 94 Ultra burning that clean or should I have my car looked at by the dealer? I was thinking of using just 91 premium but I'm not sure if that is a good idea.Opinions would be appreciated. Thank you! Also found out that I can't get 94 Ultra in British Columbia so when I go to my vacation property am I going to upset the car by using 91 instead of 94?

I use 94 on my 2011 SS as well, however, when I travel to BC or down to the states I have no option but 91 or 92. My pipes got black sot and noticed it after somewhere around 6 months of use. Got the car brand new, and after 6 months I had 24000 kms on it. Mostly highway.

mix 50/50 102 and 93.... I don't drive the car every day or it would get very expensive.

Chevron in British Columbia has 94 octane at most stations. I run it exclusively in my ZL1. Im at 1000km and drive it hard at times and I dont get much carbon soot in the tail pipes either.
