Finally!! CamaroI Build Thread Begins!! IOM Camaro

Thanks Behic2320 a build thread has been long coming. I am always following or posting in cosmetics and lighting, but never starting my own build. With time off for the holidays figure would get her started. I have some other mods coming soon. Key factor is sneaking them past the wife. :-). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am looking into the seat option that reclines and moves backwards and forwards on tracks. I would lose side air bags along with heated seats. To be honest haven't used heated seats and never used to have side airbags in cars growing up.

Today is write up on Mirrors from Member Blacky in Germany.
Only around 15 of these Mirrors ever made. From my understanding Blacky is no longer making them. I Love the design and very true to concept design. However, they are not without there flaws. The mirrors will only go up and down and field of view is narrow. I have mine perfectly adjusted for me, but would be extremely hard for others if having to drive car to operate. The mirrors are also made from a polymer type material which is very soft. In Texas HEAT that is not always a good thing. Here some photos when received along with being installed. Dont be hatten on the carper LOL we already threw it out LOL These mirrors came in rough condition for the price IMO. A body shop had to smooth them out quite a bit prior to hyrdo dipping. The passenger side mechanism had also fallen out Not sure what Blacky used to secure mechanism but didnt work during shipping. Body shop fixed this as well. Once cleaned up and dipped turned out nicely. Love the look, but check out the view...LOL took time getting used to |

Thanks for the nice comments. I wish it was a daily driver since more enjoyable to drive with added engine performances. I drive it mainly on nicer days and weekends. With hood modifications and Whipple I leave splash trays off the vents for added clearance and heat release. Thus never sees rain :-) Have around 19,000 miles on it so far. Never plan on selling with all the mods I have done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Are those mirrors as narrow as the AAC concept side-mirrors? These are the ones that I have. I like the functioning turn-signal led's on them. Minor flaws include whistling sound at very high speeds and mirror movement is limited (but do-able)...

They are narrower than the AAC ones. The only issues with the current ones I am having is with polymer being to soft and getting some indentations from road debri. It's nice having a set that not many other members have in the states.
I prefer the design of blackys but have actually looked into the AAC ones. I would have them done seamless and then hydro dipped. Last edited by CamaroI; 01-04-2014 at 04:52 PM. |

Couple of people asking about the knobs I ordered from Epco. Epco site can be found here...http://www.epcoshiftknobs.com/index.html
Ball shown below is GM Series Solid Color Knob in the Color Rally Orange. The Size is 2 1/4 with Thread size 3/8 16th if using Shifter from CFD. The SS is 2010 Black Engraved. To give an idea 2 1/4 is the size of a pool ball. Photo below shows different in Style and Size. The knob to the left is a Rally Shift knob from Epco. The Color is Rally Orange with 2010 Black SS. The size of this knob is smaller at 2 1/8. I prefer the 2 1/4. I also prefer the engraved SS on the right as opposed to the graphics knob seen on the left. |
