Painted curbs last weekend. the tire walls are there and bolted together just not set in place yet. here are a few pics. its kinda corny i guess to post this stuff but ill look back one day and be glad i was in on it at the start.
the video is just us signing the turn one curb but the sound of my 62 at idle is worth watching the video.

slipped out of work early today. got to the track just in time to see Tommy Milner turn a few laps in the 4 car. it sounded like a bomb went off when he went by.
they were doing rides with corvette VIPs and race car drivers. i dont fall into either of those categories but i did score a ride with a buddy in his Z06. they said they need pace cars for lead follow tomorrow so i may be getting sick.

Is that a Water Hazzard in the first picture? That can't be fun if you go off there...wouldn't want to be fished out of that thing.

That looks like an awesome track, and right in your backyard! Man you must be happy - after all those full-day treks to get to VIR! I'm happy for you. Will have to figure out when I can get out there.

PETE!!!!!
change your valve springs if you havent already. those beehive springs in the stock engines are weak. i had one let go saturday. we were giving fun rides to people who dont normally come to a track. i had my new tarz on and she was stickin like glue. im sure that i was carrying a lot of RPMs but i never over revved it downshifting or anything. i had a guy who builds race engines look at it and he said it just failed. we are going to build this one back this winter and have it ready as a spare. the only way i could get going by the 26th was to just order a crate engine and drop it in. this one has a tougher top end.

well, despite the blown LS3 and a busted shoulder at work, we made the event. 5 days in a row. this track is amazing. very challenging and technical. 23 turns, its like VIR and Mid Ohio in one track. here is a short vid of a couple of laps following the most awesome lock up i have ever witnessed. this is a friend of mine who had worn front tires. my wife took his truck with old wheels and new tires to the tire place. while she was gone, i let him use my old street nittos so he could keep running. the difference in tire size made his ABS quit working and he didnt notice it til this happened. im the only guy i know who can wear out 6 tires at a time. i gotta get a pic of the flat spotted tire. good times guys. if you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. dont beat me up too bad on my hand positioning at the hairpin. my shoulder is still gimped up from my accident. the good news is, the car is balanced and bites like a cobra now. the new engine seems strong but those 888s made the dif.
