gears/install question
When ordering the gears.. which kit is best to order..LPE or Richmond? Do I really need a full kit or will the half kit be enough? I'm at just under 40k on my car.

If you have an M6 I'd get the LPE 3.91 gears; otherwise the Richmond 3.73's will be fine. Get a full kit, just in case. The "half" kit is not even half, it's a few pinion and carrier shims and pinion seal, that's all.

I choose LPE 3:91's over Richmond. I'm having them installed in a couple of weeks. I did some research on both mfg's, and LPE's quality (read... lack of failures) IMO, was the deciding factor by a wide margin. My LPE gears obvioulsy could fail, but from what I've read, I'll take my chances with LPE over Richmond.
