If you found a page stating that I'd be curious to see it. I just looked at the Chevrolet.com website. If you look under the model overview for the Impala, it says its LFX V6 is E85 compatible, but does not say that for the Camaro.

KM is correct on the LLT, and since it is 11.3-1 CR it will make more power AND give better fuel economy if 91-93 is used.

On the LFX there are high and low octaine tables and if you run 87 the engine produces less poer and mpg due to the less amount of ign timing. The reset to the high octaine table isnt always automatic and a fuel trim relearn and octaine table reset may be neccesary.

The dealers know so little other than marketing...same w/most service departments.

The ability to run on 87 is for marketing, same as 100k mile to change plugs. Sure, they will run fine on 87.....but not near at their potential.

This makes sense. Power=mpg (if you keep your foot outta it)

@ Tracey, so if dealer puts 87 before pulling off lot, and owner then switches to 93, u mean that the LFX wont automatically adjust tables? So how come fuse pull doesnt seem to work on LFX?

I'd be very suprised if GM customer service had a clue about octane tables and how higher octane gas could help the LFX run better. They are just going to tell you that 87 and higher is recommended.

I am glad to see all the input I didn't think my question would create quite a showing but glad to see. Right now I think I will keep running 91 octane can't hurt and not worried about price only the good stuff. Never E-85.

Unhook negative batt terminal in trunk, turn head light switch on to deplete any stored voltage, then re connect negative cable and it will relearn.

Great thread....I will try this next time I fill up. I have been using 87 octane, but would pay the extra $ for premium if it pays dividends...

I beg your pardon, Speedy................
The manual for my 2013 LFX states ".....E85(85% ethanol) and other fuels containing more than 15% ethanol must not be used in vehicles that were not designed for those fuels."
