That's going to be a great series - anyone keeping a 4th. Gen. should have a look. It's too bad the rest of the car won't quite be on the same performance level as a 5th. Gen., but hey, it's lighter and will probably run away from it in the straights, and be pretty close in the turns. The car in that aritcle, with the suspension mods', would surely keep-up... at least
Great post.

I don't suppose it'll fit into a 93-97 without an aftermarket hood?

It would definately get closer to an LS3 Vette in speed than a stock 2010 SS will.

Perfect example why a 4th gen will always have more 1/4 mile potential over a 5th gen. Any motor combo we can do they can do as well only 500lbs lighter with a SRA and ability to run a 15inch rear tire. Wish I kept mine.

500+ lbs if you start shedding weight! I know 4th gens that still look show quality at 3200lbs lol. Gotta love a SRA for that.

I guess you have a Trans AM wich is a little heavier I think. My low optioned 01 Z28 was only a little over 3400lbs. My current car........ Over 3900lbs. Ohh yeah its 500lbs and I could defenitly feel it as soon as I made the switch. Really wish now I had kept it and still got my 5th gen as well.

I thought about the LS3 swap a lot. I was curious if you could fit the TR6060 behind it without having to cut up any of the trans tunnel. I always liked the LS1 Camaro even if it may not be the most popular. It's what I grew up riding in so its something I will always like.
