I'll be at both, AND hit the Muncie drag strip on the way home! How many are going down the track Sunday?

When my new wheels come, I'll need to get a helmet. Can anybody recommend a shop where I can try on helmets for correct fit? |

I had tried helmet sizes at the Summit store in Tallmadge, OH. If you are going to the NEOCC Fall Classic Sept 10/11 you can try some then. Another option may be Jegs in Columbus. Last edited by heinzd01; 07-11-2011 at 05:55 PM. |

You need a helmet, regardless of et? For the 1/4 drag?

My guess is snell 2005 but you should check the rules of the track. All tracks are probably the same. Just buy the highest rated. I got mine at a motorcycle shop. Matches my car perfectly. I've used it to autocross but never to drag. That's not for me!
I know it looks funny bc it's a fourwheeler helmet but that's what I originally got it for. My wife got tired of being worried when I took hhe four wheeler out sans a helmet. |

I was just about to say that....

Doubtful that a bike helmet would be allowed.... From my understanding it has to be a D.O.T. approved helmet. They have a big DOT sticker on them somewhere, usually the back. Any motorcycle/ATV helmet(I'll be using my snowmobile helmet) will be DOT approved, the downside is they are rather expensive, at least $150-170. If you don't need one for anything else, I'd just plan on borrowing someone else's.

Yeah, I wasn't really serious about the bike helmet. I was hoping I could at least go to the track a few times before deciding if I want to invest in a helmet. I'm new to drag racing, but I'd really like to try it sometime. I'm sure it will be a blast. |

Anyone get an invite for the Brickyard activities? I'm in for Friday the 29th for 'Hot Laps' by drivers in Camaro's around IMS and then on the 30th the regular parade lap in your own car, lunch etc....
