Short circuited speaker cables, now nothing works,
Ive got a 2010 SS ,I was putting in an after market radio,i had some speakers the wrong way round so i decided to have the 2 sets of wires exposed to check them before sealing them up, they touched and shorted. Now literally nothing in the car works,no dash lights, interior lights, radio, trunk opener, cant even start it.Its dead as can be!
i've looked at the manual but i cant find a fuse that does all of that! Help please!!! |

Problem solved, after hours of checking fuses and trying to figure out why i had no power to just about everything i decided to check the battery, for whatever reason the short circuit drained the entire battery, from 12v to 4v in a second, so a 6 hour trickle charge and all was good again, anyone have an idea how a short like this could drain the battery in one go?

It shouldn't drain it that fast without popping any fuses or setting the wires on fire. Weird issue, likely more to this than just a short on a speaker.

Likely you had the doors open or the cars computer on for a lot longer then you thought and drained it while working on the stereo. The cars computer when the key is turned with radi in the on position does drain the battery down fairly good . I am glad you figured it out .
