Here is the best picture I have of the water box from one of my videos. That was me being the 2nd person through, by the end of the night its messy. We'll work on our launch and cleaning of tires.

No track can be good if it allows cars the run through water with the front tires.

If you want best times, it's worth a trip to Tulsa. You will easily see your times drop by .3-.5 tenths....

On stock tires try your best to spin and at least clean em off a bit before your run. I hear getting some heat into the Pzeros is a good thing also, but if you don't want to roast your tires I can't blame you. Maybe you should try launching from idle or just above idle...say around 800 - 1,100 rpms but no higher. Left Foot on brake, and at green release the brake and mash the gas with your right foot simultaneously. Traction Control on. That method has produced the best 60 foot times I've seen on this site for an automatic V6 on stock tires.

Otherwise that looks damn fun and I wish I could be doing the same thing!

Can't wait to see what times you can run later in cooler weather.

This I keep all TC on & launch at around 1000 RPM. My best time is 14.4. You have more mods than I. Right now I just have Borla exhaust & CAI inc intake. (more mods awaiting installation) Sure is fun huh? I wish I could get my hubby to race his Camaro or his Crossfire. We would have sooooooooooo much fun. I want to beat that Crossfire soo badly. I don't even care if he beats me in his SS. It would just be fun. Keep having fun together & be careful. Definately if you are not wearing helmets, get some.

Here are our specs:
2010 Camaro V6 (Synergy Green Edition)
ADM Race Scoop
K&N Aircharger
MACE Plenum Spacer
RX 3/8" Intake Manifold Spacer
Trifecta Tune
American Racing Headers LT w/HFC
ARK DT-S
Auto w/ 3.27

2012 Mustang V6 (Grabber Blue Pony Package)
BBK Intake
Borla ATAK
Auto w/ 2.73

I know I need to remove my subwoofer box and spare tire. Also, lower our rear air pressure.

Any suggestions? Also Mustang guys, anything I can do to my wife's car to help her out? Think the gear ratio is really hurting hers.

Here are our time slips, left to right is the order we ran, I was always the right lane. The DA was 3743. On the 4th run, the track guys said I need to stop beating on her. Then the 5th they said I should give her a head start or else I wouldn't be getting any tonight.
My younger brother wanted me to take his 05 6-speed v6 Accord and get the best times out of it this most recent friday. DA of 3211 if I recall correctly. The wheelhop on that thing is ridiculous....

The DA was actually 4106 that night if that helps....

Not yet, hopefully in the next few weeks we can. We have 2 tech cards so we can race for free, but we just need to get some time to get there.

For some reason their time slips print out the date as a Sunday. Look at your time slips, you raced on Friday but your date is Sunday. You have to take their date and subtract 2.

I never did understand Thunder Valley's water box. Everyone with full size front tires is just putting water on the starting line and killing everyones 60ft. Best I managed last time I went was a 1.9 when I should have been getting at least some 1.7's. This is why years ago when I had a full bolt on 4th gen down to 12.2 at that track I was doing the happy dance. That would have been a 11 second car with near 0 DA on a good track.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, have been working on several medical issues the last few months ...

The slips I posted were made with the 2011 V6/2.73/auto I had:

It was raced 100% bone stock (the way I picked it up from the dealer). No lightening, no change to tire pressure, nothing. I've yet to drag race my 2012 stick/5.0 (maybe next year?).

With a Hypertech tune and nothing else, I ran this on a slightly warmer day:

I had a new Mustang, not a Camaro! Ford doesn't make an LS Mustang, my car was just a "base" V6. Technique I used for drag racing was simple/repeatable/reliable:
  1. Always use Premium fuel
  2. Avoid water box
  3. TC OFF
  4. Stabil-Trac ON
  5. Brake Rev the car (should hit 1200-1400 rpm)
  6. Leave on last light
  7. FLOOR IT!
Had minor wheel spin, but it seems just the right amount to get rolling. I'm no expert, that's for sure. But I've been drag racing Stangs since the early 80's.

(my 85 GT circa 1990, bought it new!)

I installed BBK long tube ceramic headers with high flow cats on my wife's Mustang. Paired with Borla ATAK's, it is loud. Test drove it a little bit to see how everything held up and it feels like there is more power. I still don't know about the transmissions on the auto's, they feel sluggish compared to my V6. Sunday we will be going to the track with a friend to take pictures.

Also our neighbor who has a 2005 Mustang V6 and thinks his car is everything (he claims he can smoke a 2010 Camaro SS with just his CAI and exhaust) sits in his driveway while we are home rev'ing his engine just to sound bad-ass. He saw me installing the headers on my wife's car and he went to borrow a friends 94-99 Mustang GT to wash it and was rev'ing it in his driveway. I decided to take her Mustang out for a test drive after installing it and after I got out of my driveway I gave it a little throttle and it was extremely loud (we live on a cul de sac so it echo'd between houses). Came back and he started that car again and it was extremely quiet this time, no rev'ing or trying to show off. Then he tried to put the guys Mustang on ramps and he screwed up the front end with the ramps.

I'll post again on Sunday with our times if the weather holds out.

Tell him to take his happy little *** down to Thunder Valley and walk the talk. If he's auto 4.0 he won't break 14's, probably mid-high 15's @ 90-93 all things considered.

-Hey I think I saw your Camaro at 4th and telephone a while back ? I have had my 2012 rental 1LT V6 Camaro for a month now.....
