When they all get together , lets say for dinner , they better don't have anything for drink , or it's going to be a mess , just to find who's keys are for what car

Thanks - it is truly an honor to be able to go to the track and help out with the Festival Cars. I never grow tired of pulling through the gates in my Pace Car

Actually each key fob has a tag on it with the car #, so if you have to much to drink you just match it to the plate or sticker on the windshield

Wonder how the value of these Hot Wheels just went up. Very limited in numbers to start with, now add the Indy 500 heritage to it. While not being the pace car it must help some.

Very nice pics, thanks for sharing. How do you get the luck of helping with an event like this? Looks like a lot of fun!

They get distributed to dealers all over the place (not sure what the criteria is), they don't all stay in Indy but several usually do. Being a vert with the Hot Wheels package and Nav, these sticker around 51k. Being Festival Cars (not Pace Car replicas) GM does not add anything for that. But I am certain many dealers that get them will initially add a "market adjustment" like $5k. The better deal will be had by those that can find one sitting unsold well after the race (if possible). Keep in mind these will have varying amounts of wear and tear and mileage on them from time they are driven around here.

For anyone wondering, these are ALL L99 automatics. One thing I was surprised in was that the "matching" engine cover is a metallic black, and not blue... The metallic black is on the stripes and carried into the interior on the door panels and dash trim.

In the Past they are released to the 24 Indianapolis area Chevy dealers on APX the June 1. Some could be held over and reused at Brickyard especially if they use the Blue SS sedan as the pace car for the Brickyard 400 like at Daytona. Most of the festival cars get 2000-3000 miles. Some can be as low as 200 if the VIP only uses it on race weekend but thats rare. I have also seen them as high as 5000 miles. Some could end in OH or IL as well.
