Says who? The SS has the performance and features to compete with the GT500 and SRT8.

I asked Scott this question at Indy. He said it would be priced comparable to the GT. |

The Challenger R/T has some pretty sweet features. I love the push button start..... I hope GM has some really sweet options that we havent heard about. Hopefully we'll know some more on the 10th.

right now the SS is the top of the line for the camaro with no confirmation on a z28 model and nothing in the near future. So that makes the SS top of the line for the camaro. So with similar power as the gt500 and srt8 it looks to be matched with them. Anywayz we will wait for pricing to see whether it is apples to apples or apples to oranges.

The Camaro was designed with class leading performance, something it won't have when going up against the GT500. In testing, they used a mustang as a benchmark, then left the stang parked because it was utterly dominated. Thats not going to happen to a GT500, thus they weren't using a GT500 and the SS isn't going to be priced agianst the GT500. Oh, and it seems that Scott said it will be priced against the GT at Indy. What would be worse, getting beaten by a cheaper car or destroyed by one that costs the same?

he still didnt get my point....the performance of the camaro is pretty close or on par with what ford said the gt500 did(this is company estimates)
gt500=4.6 0-60 SS= 4.6 0-60 SRT 8 manual=4.6 0-60 that is my point. From what I took out of it is that it would be priced competetively with the stang for what you get standard and "quality of the camaro". So there are wholes in that statement so big that it makes the ozone look like a jelly bean. Again the camaro will beat the srt8 by a couple tenths. That is good for both chevy and dodge. Doesnt have anything to do with my point so try again. Also I want the camaro to be 30k but alot of you are dead set on it being 30k or less I am trying to give you a realistic look. BTW there is already a thread waiting to be made the minute pricing is under 34k. |
