30k i got say that price just blew me away, i would defiantly go for a camaro, 30k for a camaro, that got nearly less 2hp than the challenger SRT-8, for 10k less, better designed, better looking interior, and i think is faster as well for just 30k, im still amazed how GM, could do it all for 30k.
But it kinda sucks, that you have to pay around 120-150k dollars here in denmark, to get your camaro, 30k for the camaro, and the rest is taxes

Base V6 -----------------------$19,735.00 210hp V6 Premium ------------------ $21,735.00 210hp V6 Pony Pk --------------------$22,485.00 210hp GT------------------------------$26,425.00 300hp Gt Plus-------------------------$28,375.00 300hp Shelby GT500 -----------------$42,685.00 500hp Shelby GT500KR --------------$79,995.00 540hp est. You decide what you think is realistic, I truly hope and pray that the RS/SS comes in at 29K. I believe, IMHO, it will probably come in somewhere between the GT Plus and the GT500 and closer to the GT500 for the RS/SS. Your definitely getting more than the GT Plus in the SS but you may be getting slightly less than the GT500 with the RS/SS. I say less only from a hp stand point, overall the Camaro brings much more to the table. I sure hope that if this logic is correct that the Z28 isn't priced competitively with the GT500KR

For the pricing, if GM wants the SS to be a volume car, while stealing some Mustang sales, they need to price it no more that 1-2 K over the premium GT, so 30.5K or less, in my opinion. That would be the base SS, which should also include a high level of standard equipment. My .02 worth..

And yes 30k is realistic; believe it or no. You seem to be under the assumption that hp is directly tied to $$, and that's just not true. They are going to price it competitively with it's competing trim level, not with it's comparative hp. The trim levels are Mustang V6 = Camaro LS, and Mustang GT = Camaro SS. "A solid axle 300hp Mustang GT = 425hp IRS RS/SS Camaro" Do you see the value? Do you understand now all the comments about "blowing away the competition"? |

Well it's not bad, but the front bumper of the lower models, i.e. RS and stuff, looks more agressive than the one of the SS model. The SS-front-bumper looks like the chin of beaves. Now here is the question: "Will be there any model of the camaro with a v8 bigblock AND with the front bumper of the RS, may it be the RS/SS?" I also heard, that the RS/SS look for 99 per cent like the concept. Is that true?
All in all, the Camaro rocks, but the design is sensible! ;(

Hopefully there isn't a $20 - $30K dealership mark up on the SS as there is with the Challenger.

30.000 k is not guaranteed for a plain jane SS until GM releases OFFICIAL PRICES I would not count on it , remember what GM said , the Camaro will be PREMIUM PRICED vs the competition , I will look for the link but I remember reading this for shure...
