Buying a amplifier question

I'm gonna go ahead and upgrade the amp in my car. I found one but have a concern. Seller claims it's brand-new in the box as if I bought it brand new. The only thing is, he claims it was bench tested. What and why would a amp need bench tested?

Bench test usually just means that it was tested to make sure it works.

I bought my sub amp used. Works great. I think the brand makes a big difference. Some companies build really good amps that will last.

It's a JL XD400/4v2 and $150.00 off from the $499.99 list price. Is it worth the gamble as there would be zero warranty?

I have the exact same amp. I used it to replace the factory amp. I bought that one new. The used one I bought was a JL monoblock 600w for my sub amp that works great.

I think JL Audio is a safe bet, their amps are really durable and very reliable. $150 off is a great deal, I paid the $500. I recommend looking up Steve at Sub****p. He makes a factory amp replacement kit harness for for gen 5 Camaros that works perfectly and is easy to install.

I installed the GM Kicker self powered sub. The sub gets the signal from the driver's side rear 6x9. So I know I have to add the adapters from the fark kit to those. Will it affect the sub in anyway?

Not sure. I think the adapter from the FARK kit has to do with the 6x9 being a 3 way and running it as 2 way. It’s something like that. So, I don’t think the adapter will affect the signal as an output.

I think it might be better to run you me sub from the output that will be on your JL amp. That is how most people run a sub.
