2010 manufacturer screw up with tires

I have had my 2010 Camaro a little over two years now, and have religiously taken it in to the dealer for maintenance and for a few problems. Today the tech asked if I had ever had the tires rotated anywhere? I answered no.. He then said the tires are on the car wrong! the front wheels are on the back and vice versa. This is a manufacturer error! does anyone know if Chevy will have to replace these expensive tires on their dime? My car is still under bumper to bumper warranty?

They probably rotated them wrong. The rims are staggered. I don't see why chevy would have to replace the tires.

You owned the car for two years and didn't notice this?

nope, I have never looked at the tire size. I expected getting a new car from factory it would be put together right, even the tech guys at the chevy dealer missed it the last two years until today.

I highly doubt that GM did it but it wouldn't be the first mistake to be made at the plant
I doubt you'll have to replace them though :s I don't think the wear patterns would have been any different

I have had the dealer rotate my tires (on my DD) during the oil change without asking me to do so and there was no comment on the invoice either. I caught them rotating my tires when I had done it myself just a few days earlier and I told them to put them back on the way I had them.

So they can correct this without buying you new tires.
Why do you think you need new tires?

Just put them back they way they should be and you will be fine.....after all, if you have had your car for 2 years, and still have plenty of tread left.....you must not drive your car that many miles a year.
