Questions for people with a cam

So ive been saving up for a cam the past month or 2, within 2-4 weeks ill have $2000. I plan on ordering the night fury cam package which is ~$1,100. My questions are:
1) How much did it cost for you to get the cam installed? Will 900$ be enough?
2) With the night fury cam do i need all the other stuff like gasket, oil pump and timing chain? Or could i just get the cam?
3) Any other cam recommendations?

If I were you I'd save til you get you a melling, a c5r timing chain and an Ls2 chain dampner. Then your good to go. Your going to need water pump and head gaskets.

Definitely do the chain and damper. Mine snapped and caused a lot of damage 30 days after my cam.

Good advice, but he's not doing an LS3 conversion. No need for head gaskets. Water pump gaskets for sure though.

You will need the gaskets, either from us or your installer. The oil pump and chain are a nice upgrade. Oil pump we use is 10296.

How many miles on your car? Since you are in there you might want to go ahead and replace the oil pump, timing chain and dampener.

You will definitely need the water pump gaskets, front timing cover gasket and front crank shaft gasket.

The way I see it is I'm in there; do I really want to have to take this stuff back off because of a leak? My answer? I'm replacing the gaskets and if higher mileage? The oil pump and chain.

I did both when I installed my new heads and cam.

Good luck!
