Share some tips that really work on removing white wax residue from plastic trim

ive tried alot of of methods and still have yet to find one that really works.

I tried Prep Sol, Back to Black, rubber and plastic trim from Griots, Mothers, meguires you name it. Looks ok and after one wash the residue is visible

I want something that removes the white not temporarily hides it what do you guys suggest or have tried?

On my Camaro I painted my rear diffuser just for this reason but on my CTSv and GT500 its annoying as hell.

The solution has been under your nose the whole time - use an eraser, as in a pencil eraser. That'll get wax right off of trim.

I have used a small amount of kerosene on a rag, and rub the trim, then take a clean rag to run where the trim meets the paint...tried Adam's polish stuff in a can called in-out-spray but didn't get the results I was promised

In and out spray isn't a cleaner its a enhancer. Its made to make plastic parts shine not to remove wax. Adam's APC is made to clean plastics and trim just as the above video showed. Peanut oil is another good way to remove wax residue.

tried the brush with cleaner and no luck.

Funny i experimented with my ZEP Pumice hand soap and it works great on the bumper plastic but not on the door window frames of my CTSV

I had to have my CTSV wet sanded and compounded by the body shop to remove lots of scratches and they got compound residue all over, they should have taped off the trim.

local friend suggested i try toothpaste, hmmm

I had a similar issue... deodorant from my sleeveless left arm reaching for a bank cylinder...
I think one of the issues of removal are the slight indentations in the plastics texture...I used a sponge...the yellow and green kind... the green is a bit abrasive...some windex sprayed on the residue and a little scrubbing.. gone...
