A 2,000 mile trip any one?
Hi there! I'm just curious...has any of you drove a 2,000 mile round trip in your camaro? I'm trying to set up plans for Thanksgiving week to drive to Maryland. I live in KC area. I looked up maps and it's a 1,100 mile from my door to our friends door. Flights are wayyy too expensive. We're also taking our small dogs. Thinkin of leaving after work on Monday (thanksgiving week), drive until I get close to Indy, do a motel and drive the rest of the way to Maryland. Wife will be a passenger. She can't drive so it'll all be on me. What's the highest mileage y'all think I can get on a tank of gas? I have a 1lt stock. Nothing modded.
Any of you done this?

Went Oklahoma to Nashville within week of having mine. And did Oklahoma to South Carolina and back in September. About 3000ish on that trip. No problems.

I drove just under 5300 miles during my trip to from San Diego to Camaro5 Fest III, then onto Mayo Florida, then back to San Diego.
The farthest I got on one tank was 466 miles using 16.29 gallons (28.65mpg). This was between Fabens, Texas (80mph speed limit) and Gila Bend, Arizona.

You should get at least 380 miles per tank. But when I go on a road trip i always fill up when tank is half way done, I suggest you do the same it serves as a small break from driving.
Also, VERY IMPORTANT, don't forget to bring a radar detector.

I drove 800 miles to HHI, SC from NJ and would get around 500 per tank with an Injen cai so you should be around there, definitely over 400 per tank though

About a 1800mile round trip kansas to ohio a few times. I get right on 24mpg in my SS. Id imagine you would get right around 30 in a V6.

Mine has seen all lower 48 states, did two vacations about 3500 round trips on both and never once got tired of driving as I was "stuck" driving it all. Have fun!

DO IT! We drove from NM to Indy for the Fest which was 1500 one way. We also took along our 7 month old puppy (about 25lbs at the time). We got a soft sided crate for him so I didn't have to worry about him tearing up the car. We had the car packed full since we are originally from the Indy area and we got married while we were back home visiting family. Even my fully loaded, mostly stock SS was getting at least 20MPG and at one point inTX I set the cruise to 70 (posted speedlimit) and reset the mpg and avg speed and several miles later when I checked was getting 28mpg! Keep the speeds down and your foot off the floor you should do even better.

^^^ Better than 28 MPG highway on a SS Camaro ? I doubt it.
GM window sticker says 24 hwy and that's pushing it. On one trip with cruise control set @ 70 for 2 hours I got 24.4 mpg... 22-23.5 is about the best I can normally do on the interstates. I did 3600 miles round trip to camaro5 fest 1 in Valdosta Ga and then onto Miami Fl in my SS. It was nothing but a fun comfortable trip. OP: Make sure you check out Annapolis while in Md if you can, and enjoy your trip.

I drove from Kearney Nebraska to San Antonio Texas, 1000 miles each way, 18 hours of driving. I got about 500 miles per tank, thanks to a V6!!!! Having an in dash dvd player made it easier for my passengers. We took turns picking movies.Oh yah, I got some gel seat pads for the trip, saved my ass!
