the V8s will stop selling when people stop buying them. the number is just a fleet average MPG anyway, people who want performance cars will still be able to buy them. Just your average joe looking for a commuter car will have to chose between a 56mpg diesel and 70mpg electric plugin.

There's no reason this can't be a civil discussion. It's when it becomes uncivil and politically tuned, that they get deleted.

THe market will eventually dictate what we will have in future days. By the time a lot of these federal mandates, hit the actual vehicle product lines, a lot of our attitudes and needs will have changed. I , for one, won't be driving a car that gets 18-22 mpg when fuel is $7-8 dollars a gallon (or dare I say it, even higher).

The enthusiast community, will drive what they will. Will I sell Rosie, probably not. Will I drive him as much, most definitely not. I will be driving a vehicles that gets minimally 40 MPG or 40 MPG(e) for most of my needs.

It happens. We have seen it over the past 40 plus years. That's why today's vehicles are significantly different than what was available back in 1967.

Think about it. a 425 horsepower Camaro, might have been lucky to get 6-8 MPG. Today we have a 426 Horsepower Camaro, cpabale of 24-25 MPH onhe highway. I for one average around 21 MPG overall. and today's Camaro, is far and away much safer than what we had "Back in the Day."

Gas back then , heck, I use to buy Regular for $0.24.9 per gallon. Now we are in the $3.50-$4.50 range.

Times have changed on so will we. And doesn't make a tinker's damn which party is in control at any given time.

You're right bhhall82. So much for the first amendment. Censoring comments that don't contain swearing or personal attacks which just happened on this thread is not what I'm into. If anyone thought my comment earlier was offensive, they really must have a limited thought pattern. Bye bye

First amendment doesn't apply to a privately owned and operated web site.

Now if you are standing on the steps of congress, you'd be 100% right.

FWIW.

Bingo - Winner Winner - Chicken Dinner. Misconceptions as to how and when "Freedom of Speech" applies.

This is a privately owned and operated site.
