Talking LOUD Squeaking Noise (Driver's Rear)

Hello all, great site.

First of all let me say this was no laughing matter at the time! ;-)

Got my car Saturday and Wednesday 400 miles later it needed servicing!!

Turns out the bushings on the stabilizer shaft (swaybar) needed to be replaced and the mounting surface lubed. Problem solved... so far.

Just thought this might be helpful to anyone else who finds there new vert embarrassing them as they drive down the road with a VERY loud squeaking noise coming from their rear end.

I only had maybe 100 miles on it when my throttle went out..how embarrassing when you are driving 55 miles and hr, and then..bam..can not go over 35. had to take it in twice!!! now everytime my car makes a noise or goes over a bump..i am scared to death... although I now have over 2000 miles on it!!

I think I'm a victim of the same thing!

I took it in for service to address the loud squeaking but they told me the top needed to be lubricated...

Didn't do anything. My top is going in to be replaced this Wednesday.

If you want to send an email to my service writer Mike Weist and Koons Chevrolet Tysons Corner, maybe we can get this looked into.

Thanks

BJ

I have a similar squeak on my 2012 45th Anniv. Top up, top down, still squeaks. Only have 5800 miles on it and it is driving me crazy. The stabilizer bar bushings fixed it huh?

Mine squeaked (almost a scraping) in the back after taking it in for a tsb on the wind noise from passenger window came to find out that there are rubber nubs right behind the back of the top that can be seen when the top is half open that need to be lubed every once in a while especially when it drastically changes temp and noticed an immediate end to the squeak after throwing some wd40 on it

Yes... but it was an early build 2011. YMMV
