2012 transformers camaro current market price?
I've owned a 2012 Transformers Camaro since new and do to some future family changes I've started to consider letting it go. With the help of some fellow forum members, we know that the production numbers on the 2012 Transformers Camaro were very low so this keeps me from just looking at KBB and going off market value. Any input would help
Car options: 2LT Leather Heated seats On-star navigation Rear parking camera 20" black wheels Heads up display HID headlights Automatic w/paddle shifter and sport mode 464 total v6 automatic Transformers camaros built WORLD WIDE! Please refrain from telling me it's worth what someone will pay and all other useless comments. Looking for some real input from the enthusiast on this forum. Thanks |

20K tops if in Excellent condition. just an FYI the "Transformers" edition was a $995 option for badges. While its low production based on who ordered that option the rest of the car is "standard" for your year. Where higher value comes from in cars is the "hardware" under the hood being different then all the others. Watch Mecum and Barrett Jackson and those with rare engine/tranny codes and other goodies are the ones that demand a premium.

I'd say you should be able to get low 20's easily, but probably not much more than that. You can get a nice used SS for around 25, so..

it comes with more than just stickers as most people think but I guess the synergy and hot wheels camaros are just "badges" and stickers

The 2012 Transformers Special Edition will be offered as a $3,000 package on 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes with Rally Yellow paint. In addition to the content offered in the popular RS appearance package, the Transformers edition will feature black rally stripes that stretch over the hood, roof, decklid and unique high-wing rear spoiler; 20-inch, black-painted wheels wrapped in high-performance summer tires; and Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels.

The 2012 TF edition also has special sill plates and Autobots embroidered center console lid and headrests. (my son has a 2012 TF 2SS)

Being a TF Edition won't bring a higher premium than a standard model. On a trade in you will only get auction price. I say this because, been there done that. Traded my 2010 in for my SS and got $24k and the car resold for $26k .

I would bet 10-15% over a normal LLT. You do need to wait for the right buyer though.
Your best bet is to cast a wide net on AutoTrader and similar sites to see what other folks are asking. I know on SGM it was only a several hundred dollar option when new, but when you look up SS SGM cars on autotrader...asking prices are significantly over that of a standard SS of the same vintage. If you cant find any transformer edition cars, look at the other special editions and see what kind of premium folks are looking for

I'd say 21-22 for the right private party buyer assuming VG to Excellent Condition. You're hurt by the fact that there is no Transformers hysteria at the moment. In order to really maximize the profit you'd want to sell around when the next movie hits. That's the best chance for your "average" buyer.
