Not if you use "02" extenders that screw into the rear O2 sensor bungs. They pull the sensor tip further out of the exhaust stream to trick the computer into thinking your cats are still there.

I've been running mine for about 4.5 years now with no CEL and no tune.

Yes it would.

Not only that but when you gut the cats you create a chamber that will hinder exhaust flow.

Your better to purchase off road pipes and save the cats.

Ted.

Bernoulli's Principle always pops into my head for some reason or other, whenever I read or hear about someone gutting cats.

The empty chamber sound is not as desirable either in many applications.

Last time I gutted a cat, was when I was 20 and in my P.

Never again.

Don't go to the trouble, just lose the cats. The off road pipes that came with my Texas Speed headers bulge so they look like cats, but they're just straight through.

And I've had a CEL on for a year and a half because of them. I'll finally be able to get a tune in Jan (warranty is up now)
