Need an SS brake rotor measurement
Hello everyone:
Unfortunately I'm not an SS owner. On the other hand, I want SS brakes. I'm contemplating the use of the factory brembos (hopefully without the weights) for my project. I'm using 12" rotors instead of 14", since that's all that will fit. I need the distance from the rotor hat to the outer edge of the rotor. Basically, I need to know how 'tall' the brake pads/calipers are. 14" rotors would be nice, but this is for an offroad vehicle and I don't want 18" rims. Your measurement will keep me from running to the chevy dealer with a measuring tape. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Oh man my post was trumped by a grocery divider thread. If anyone can put a tape measure up to their rotor on Saturday, that would be a great help.

I still haven't ruled these out yet. I guess I need some clarification. There appears to be a signifianct gap between the rotor hat and the friction surface area. Almost 1", which puts these calipers back in the running. Did the measurement include the non-useable gap? Any additional help would be much appreciated. Help make my jeep safer!

You are right and the pad area is 2 1/2 and the space is 1" but that is not what you asked.
