Our Regional Manager has an 09 GT500 convertible. He removed the stripes himself a few months after he bought the car last year. He had a guy in an R/T Challenger worm his way through traffic to catch up to him, only to hit the brakes once the guy saw the Shelby badge on the trunk deck.

These are some pretty good times for a stock Camaro SS during the summer time in Florida.

Stock Camaro:

13.21 @ 109
13.18 @ 110
13.15 @ 110

Corrected these times would be in the high 12s @ 111- 112 mph.

do you have a time slip for that run? Didn't know those cars were capable of 12s with bolt ons and street tires.

different tracks, different days................... your car could very well run mid 13's best at his track.

Nope this was at bradenton, red w/ white stripes (stock)

silver w/ black stripes (modded)

10 Camaro SS rolls 426 (LS3). So 60HP difference and the GT500 is a complete bitch to keep under control. The guy must really have known how to drive it, which props to him.

Those Goodyear F1's are absolutely terrible and I'm not surprised he short shifted. First is useless on GT500's. Literally.

I regret losing the speed of the GT500 but for a DD... I still think the SS is better.

im no gt 500 expert but it looks like you are comparing crank to wheel hp there.

im not sure about that, his numbers might just be wrong...unless the GT500 only lost 25 hp on the way to its wheels, or the GT500 was severely under rated.

i wasnt exactly sure what he was doing because google will tell you that car was rated at 500. so 500 vs 426 is a more accurate comparrison
