What would you spend for a NAVI/DVD install kit

this is not a thread to discuss whether or not you like or want a NAVI/DVD/CD kit in your car. im just wondering without the actual radio itself, how much would you pay for a installation kit that lets you replace your stock stereo of you 2010 camaro for, lets say, a navi with a 7 inch monitor that still retains the factory look of the dash..cause i know the dash is pretty much wrapped around the radio, but somebody is working on a kit that will let you replace the stock radio with whatever double din radio you want and still looks great and not all chopped up..really professional looking job here..so what would you pay for something like this..even if you have no intention of ever putting one in what is the absolute highest you would pay for something like this.??? just curious, and id like to help out a friend who is up in the air about the price hes going to charge..PLEASE honest answers if you dont mind. thanks guys for the help..in advance.

Kit Price

Mass produced kit most people are willing to pay up to $150.00 depending on the vehicle. For a custom job we get $200.00 plus depending on the difficulty. Judging on what I've seen this would probably be around $600.00 to $700.00 job, but most people won't pay that. We do have a couple of kits that break the $200.00 mark but have a difficult time selling them. Is he planing to make a mold and make a bunch or is he planning one on one basis?

If it's just a molded plastic piece, $200-250

If it includes electronics for all the other functions in the Camaro head unit, $500-600

cool..well heres the thing..what about if he has to take the head unit and mount it onto another panel and hide it in the car after soddering a few dozen wires so that the car retains all of the functionality even with the kit..this is taking the existing dash panel and fabricating it..its not massed produced as of yet. hes just starting this and is going to be doing one on one basis..talking about 1200 for a discount..1500+ without. can hardly blame him though since it takes about three days of his time alone to fabric all that mess under the dash. but after its done everything is all neat and up to par with the stock look..looks as though the car came with a double din stereo. only thing is that you mount the dash head piece from what ive seen just the LED part to a panel and tuck it away unseen in the trunk. that way its like nothing has changed at all. you still have everysingle functionality and the phone and onstar and everything still comes through the speakers as normal..and steering wheel still controls properly.

Kits

Just kits in general. No one makes a kit yet but they are in the works. Metra should be showing theirs at CES. Hopefully would be available soon after.
