Manual is my favorite though there are problems?
Should I avoid manual due to all the threads I keep seeing about transmision issues and just get an automatic? I really prefer manual, not sure I want the added headache though. How serious are the manual transmision issues? I can afford an automatic AND I do know how to drive one. . . lol, it's not really my thing though.
THANK YOU ALL in advance! I wonder if there is a % known of reported problems for all mauals manufactured?

Honestly, unless you're just redline shifting constantly and not shifting smoothly you'll be fine.
I think a lot of these bad transmissions were the 2010's IMO You don't hear about most people who's transmissions are completely fine. 4 months no problems

I believe a LOT of it is technique, if you use proper shifting technique (http://www.shortshifter.com/techniques2.htm)
and BEHAVE yourself, there should be no probs. I burned up a couple of clutches because I didn't use proper technique

love. my. car.

In my opinion there are no really bad transmission problems in my car. I've had the gremlin clutch pedal issue where it only comes out half way, but works fine. Not many people have had that issue, and I only saw it once. So if it happens again, I'd be concerned. But I've had my car for well over 6 months and the transmission definitely seems less sensitive than it was when I first bought the car. Most of the stinky clutch issues I was having was just due to the new clutch.

Then it is still under warranty. Don't let that slow you down. If you have problems, continue to take it in and get the problems documented, that way if a fix comes up later, or you have more problems, you can prove that you tried to get it repaired under warranty.

Bought Nov. 2009 - 8500 miles - no issues. No concerns. I drive it like a everyday car 90% of the time ( 10% is not so normal = fun!). Its a very flexible platform - drive it easy - hit it hard - mine just purrs or roars right along. All that torque at your right foot in every gear makes for the . I'm biased to the manual for these reasons and have no maintenance performance concerns.
Go get the 6M and have some fun too! |

2 years plus here. NO issues. If you really want a manual, get it. You'll be sorry if you don't. IMHO.

C5 IS AWESOME!

Do these cars all have an issue where I have to add a reservoir for brake and or clutch? Think I remember reading that on C5 somewhere. Can't remember what the problem was just remember reading about it. Thanks again!
