Well sunroof question answered (PIC)

Well I found this on another site and to my knowledge this is the first pic with the sunroof open. There was debate as to how it was to open. I'm pretty bummed by this and think it looks pretty cheap when a sunroof opens over a roof. I don't know why GM insists on doing this. I understand the shape of the roof has something to do with it but there has to be another way. It seems like the sunroof only opens halfway when it's over the roof like in the GTP's. Ah well still better than the reverse mohawk IMO.

The one interesting element here is the addition of a wind deflector. I have a Grand Prix GTP with a sunroof and it is noisy as all get out.

Ugh. Hopefully someone will figure out how to take the thing off and stick it in the trunk. That looks ugly and looks like it would be pretty fragile.

I bet they would loose some head room by trying to get it to retract into the roof. I'm already worried about fitting in to it at 6'6", I didn't fit in the Challenger very well and that is supposed to have an inch or so more head room than the Camaro.

I hear you. I am 6'7" and that is one of my concerns also.

I don't want to look like I am laying down while driving this car.

Very few times I'm glad to be 5' 8" but when shoping sports cars it's actually a benefit, I fit in anything.

If this is indeed how it turns out there won't be a sunroof on mine.

Oh heck, you can't see what it looks like while you are driving anyway!

I like it myself. If it slid into the roof like a more common sunroof it would be a much smaller opening.

I want the opening as large as possible myself.

I believe that's called a 'Spoiler Style' sunroof.

WOW, nice find! I have to say that I agree with you a little, but having not seen one in person yet, I'm going to reserve judgement. I love my T-tops and the sunroof on the wifey's Jetta, however, I think I'm still sticking with the 'hawk

I wonder that too. It would seem it would be subjected to a lot of beating from the wind and whatnot. Who knows though? I'm sure GM is considering and testing all these details and we ultimately won't find a real objective fault with the design. I think they want to get everything right on this car.

That makes total sense.

That's a good point too. I would prefer as big an opening as I could have. The mechanisms for sunroofs are too small so maybe orienting it in this mannor is a efficient as they could make it. If so, kudos
