Would it make sense to remove the 2 front seat to give you more room to work? I know it is extra work but might make moving around back there easier.

I used a tiny ratchet and small socket. Using both hands... Holding the socket on that bolt. It's a pain at that angle.

Was so much easier and also was able to do this by myself without scratching any interior. A few pics of the seat with bracket attched below.
This is exactly what u do

Great DIY, helped out a lot. Just thought I would add one thing. One of my speakers were blown, so I gutted it and was able to use the factory bracket with my new speakers. Turned out real solid.

No, just replacing the 6x9s for now. May do the doors in the future.

I know this is an oldie but a goodie.
I pulled this up because I am pulling the rear speakers out tomorrow and found this thread.

I'm not sure why everyone is taking so much time to pull everything apart and then reinstall the speakers the same way, only to have to do it again later down the road.

I am going to install mine from underside in the trunk area so its just a few screws to remove when I want to remove or add rear speakers.

Some do. Unless you put a mic in the car to SQ spec it, the only downside is you losing an inch or three of trunk space. Your primary issue is you have to take the car apart to reach them before you can remove the OEM ones. The seats and back dash go in and out easy enough, it's just time.
