I really don't like the ss one...i'm glad that the v6 is around and hopefully i can do a swap or if the front bumper is part of the rs package and can just be made like that through the factory...

anybody else in my boat?
I just don't like the fake scoop - it takes away from the clean look. Everything else is nice.

Good theory but the car is taken off the road and garaged each winter and has never seen salt. I've seen other people complain about the same problem with the same wheels as I have, and other people complain about other models with GM chrome wheels.

Just because someone would like a different bumper more than another doesnt make them a poser.

and since you want a v6 bumper, doesnt that kinda make you a poser?

im just messin with you so dont take that the wrong way.

All the chrome has flaked off the back side of the rims where you can only see when you take the wheels off. The font sides where the chrome is thickest is bubbling slightly. A few more years and that's going to be ruined.

They SUCK at chrome wheels!!!!
Just to clarify, I think GM buys their wheels from the same supplier that Toyota gets theirs from.

I want the V6 6MT, and intend to change out parts until I get the stuff I want without the stuff I don't want. That may include changing some visible body parts, maybe (for example) by trading with someone who wants the V6 bumper. I won't know that stuff until I see both in person.

It will definitely include changing some functional stuff and gizmos and what not. For example, I want the RS center console gauges, and lots of folks hate the torque gauge and seem like they'd rather have a blank panel there, so I'll trade with them.

I think I might be sticking to the SS bumper. Unless, They make an RS bumper with that little hood scoop at the front. The RS doesn't have a little hood scoop in the front. And the may change that lower grill insert. I have to see the car for myself to make my ultimate decision. I'm sure though, some after market guys will make a bumper for all our prefferences, even a rear bumper for you rear bumper fans.

These are the double 5-spoke Chrome SS wheels specific to the SS only and may have been from another supplier.

I do not know who the manufacturer is but my '01 SS wheels have the same manufacturers logo on it as the wheels on my old Toyota 4Runner.

Does the SS bumper bigger "mouth" help with cooling the V8? If so why get the V6 one?

Unless you're racing in Death Valley or have a heavily upgraded non-stock engine, you don't need the maximum amount of cooling offered by either bumper. A bigger "mouth" has more aerodynamic drag.

Because the size of the mouth I can accept as a compromise for cooling... the el-cheapo "2005 Toyota Prius" lower grille cover (that does not match the upper grille in any way) really ruins the whole look.

Isn't the new camaro at least partly a "bottom breather"? I think I can see the air dam under the radiator in some shots.

Well I'm going with the SS bumper. Makes an already wicked looking car look even more badass!
