Header Bolts

I have installed headers over a year ago. Every month I seem to have loose header bolts. I guess my question is this normal? I torque them to the proper specs every time and they still come loose. Is there something that I can put on the treads to keep them tight?

Stage 8 locking fasteners will prevent them from loosening.

Never had an issue with mine. Ran them a few heat cycles, re-torqued them, and never had an issue since.

No issue. Recently switched to ARP header bolts just to be pretty. No issues with them either.

No issue here. I would be interested in what kind of headers you have.

I have not had a set come loose on me. If they keep coming loose a locking set would work out just fine.

Thank you,
Ricardo

I have borla XR1 long tube headers. I just checked with borla and they said to use a red loctite. If that doesn't do the trick they would send me new bolts. I really hope this works

I went to put the loctite on the bolts and found the left side manifold gasket has blown out. I called borla and the are sending out new gaskets. I really hope this will fix this issue.

Are you using your factory bolts or others? I'm with the others.....I've had to re-torque them only a couple times after initial install. Good luck.

Don't use loctite on header bolts. Don't use anti sieze either. Just tighten it down hard.

red loctite NO. who ever told you that is a idiot or a ahole. Are you retorquing them after a heat cycle? If you just torque them cold they can come loose. drive the car then check the torque hot. use GM gaskets. aftermarket suck.
