Exhaust drone (Solo J-pipes) GONE!!!

Hey guys, for those of you with "drone" issues, stop looking at different or more expensive exhaust kits. I have LT headers, high-flow cats and the Borla S-type axle-back and was experiencing drone at around 1800 RPM. Just had Solo J-pipes installed...What a difference! Even my 13 year old daughter noticed the difference. The exhaust sound is just "cleaner" and drone at 1800 RPM is GONE!!! I'll admit that this seemed a little gimmicky to me when I first heard about it, but it really works!

Thanks Solo Performance! They had excellent customer service as well. Give Steve a call. You won't be disappointed.

I just put this system on my 2013 Hot Wheels Edition Camaro and it sounds AWESOME, really gave the car a better sound with no drone.

I live in Mass too and would love to add these to my SS, but I would have to find a shop to do it. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary

AFM is present. The J-Pipes will get rid of the drone aspect of your drive.

With a Solo exhaust set-up (or any setup for that matter) you're going to hear an ugly change in tone when the AFM kicks in. It will be noticeable.

I had the same problem as you where with the AFM kicking in I would get an awful tone and even a vibration throughout the car. Thankfully you have 2 great options here.

1.) Get a tune and have AFM disabled. Only draw back here is that GM will be able to detect that a tune was done if your car goes in for service and void your warranty.

2.) Do a quick search on C5 forum for RANGE technology ; link below.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=283175

coles notes of what that is, is a quick fix via plug-in device in the cars
OBD II port, which will instantly disable the AFM. Car will run in V8 mode at all times that its plugged in, no drone (when running the solo w/ j pipes) and no AFM interference.

Best part is, there was a test done by one of the members, when you unplug it, GM will not have any trace of AFM disable and thus warranty remains intact!

Good luck.
